We’ll be offering baptisms at both celebrations (9am & 11am) on Sunday, October 29th. We believe baptisms are an outward expression of the inward transformation we’ve already experienced in Christ. If you are interested in being baptized, or have questions, please contact Greg Williams at

belong campaign

When we belong to Jesus, we belong to His larger family that takes care of each other and invites others in to pursue community and growth together. Here are two special ways that we want to encourage and take care of each other other during the Belong series.

  • Freedom Workshops. Come out to learn and practice the skills needed to experience more freedom in your daily life and how you can use these skills to help others. These workshops will go for 8 weeks and will be offered Thursdays from 7:00-9:00 pm starting August 31st, and Saturdays from 9:00-11:00 am starting August 2nd. Spots are limited per night. If you are interested, contact Greg Williams for an application form

  • Professional Counseling Scholarships. If you are interested in receiving one of our scholarships for free professional counseling, contact Greg Williams to set up a time to sit down and discuss

Care center volunteer opportunity

The Care Center is a resource center that happens right here at Northstar on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of every month. At the Care Center, we provide community, assistance, connection to resources and encouragement to practically move ahead in life as we care for the whole person. Volunteers are needed to serve our guests as Table Hosts. This is an opportunity to share snacks and conversation around the table as we create a fun and encouraging environment at The Care Center. Training is provided for all of our roles. If you’re interested in serving, please contact Greg Knake at 513-205-5864 or at or sign-up at the table in the café.

A Discipleship Huddle is a training group of 3-4 people that teaches discipleship strategies to help us be more intentional in living like Jesus. Huddles focus on learning to hear the voice of God. Huddles typically last 9-12 months and meet 2-4 times per month. They are both organized and organic while providing high challenge to change and high invitation into real relationships. For more information, please contact Adam Kasel at

Interfaith hospitality network

We are partnering with St. Columban church, one of our church partners at the Care Center, to work with Interfaith Hospitality Network. IHN is a local organization that helps homeless families get back on their feet in the Greater Cincinnati area. Sunday, October 8 will be the evening that we provide a meal and host the event at St. Columban. There are lots of ways that you can serve. Specifically, we need food preparers for 22 people, dinner hosts, and approximately 6 people to help set up the meal and serve. We will also have 4-6 evening hosts that will play with the kids and host other leisure activities, clean-up from dinner, as well as two overnight guests to stay with the group until the morning. Please call Shelly Karle at 513-722-6560 or email at for more information or to sign-up to volunteer.

Men's Game NIght

Guys, are you looking to get more connected with some of the other men at Northstar?  Well, one great way is to stop by men's game night.  Several times a year, we will set aside a night for guys to just hang out, play cards, board games, eat snacks and watch sports.  It's free, and it's an easy way to help put names to some of those faces you have seen walking through the cafe on Sundays. We will have poker, euchre, and several different board games available. Bring a friend with you! Our next game night is October 14th from 7-10pm. For more information, email Chris Kahrs at

In 2018, Northstar will be offering five international mission trips through Back2Back Ministries, an international orphan care ministry. Northstar mission teams will support local orphanages in practical and relational ways, investing in the lives of children.  Visit our missions page to learn more.

Pathfinders Volunteer Opportunity

All children need an adult to help with homework, listen when they have a problem, and push them to be their best so Pathfinders, a program of the Care Center, pairs fatherless boys and girls in our community with an encouraging mentor. Mentors are positive role models, that encourage life-long learning, and remind kids that they have what it takes to be successful in life. Training is provided and this is a one year commitment. We are currently in need of additional male and female mentors for kids who are waiting to be paired. If you’re interested in getting involved in either of these opportunities please contact Greg Knake at 513-205-5864 or

Spark Life Coaches Needed

Spark, a program of The Care Center, exists to help people practically move ahead through a network of support and resources that promote personal advancement and stability.  We are currently in need of additional coaches for this life development program.  A Spark Coach is a positive role model, problem-solver and helpsparticipants set goals in the areas of family, work, personal and spiritual life.
